Gretsch Chet Atkins 6120 Vintage 1957/58 - Orange

Gretsch Chet Atkins 6120 Vintage 1957/58 - Orange

£14,995.00Price

We are pleased to present this beautiful 1957/58 Gretsch 6120 Chet Atkins model in orange.

This guitar dates to late 1957 but probably didn't ship until early 1958. Internally and externally it's all original except for the addition of a painted "stinger" on the the back of the headstock. We're unsure of the date this was added but it's old paint and the checking is consistent with the rest of the guitar so probably early on in this guitar's life. There is some evidence of a previous headstock repair under blacklight but the nature of the break/repair isn't known. The guitar however plays very well and all of the vintage Gretsch mojo is present. The Bigsby works smoothly and delivers classic country vibrato.
